A little inspiration for myself, my sisters, and the rest of our family and friends who’ve been drawn in to the wedding planning madness…

The brunch shower on Sunday (given by Becca’s soon-to-be-mother-in-law) was quite lovely, and I think it kicked off wedding season nicely by setting the creative standard high…

With that in mind: a little vignette of thoughts and ideas for showers, bachelorette parties, and even the wedding itself…

With my sister’s wedding rapidly approaching (beginning of July, which, freakishly, isn’t that far away in terms of “planning-days”!), I’ve been pretty occupied lately with all things Love & Marriage.   Since I’m working on the invitation design, I’m even dreaming in pink and green!

It’s been a fun (and challenging) process, utilizing amazing photos taken by the remarkable Mary K. As things take shape, I’m having fun figuring out what to do with all the options we’re NOT using in the final design!  One of which is right here for your enjoyment…

Aren’t they the cutest?

I love how this shot captures their respective default “happy” faces so perfectly!   HE looks like someone just robbed his house, SHE looks like she might’ve been the one that robbed it, yet to those who know them, both of their faces read “ecstatically in love”!

Not sure if this counts as art or design, per se, but I suppose what I did with these pics could be considered “creative processing”. Regardless, these shots made me smile today – taken in the middle of a pick-up Frisbee game with some of my siblings two weeks ago.

Not only are my closest relatives quite nimble and athletic, they’re extremely silly as well (maybe some of these faces make that a bit obvious?), so as ridiculous as a post about springboard Schlea siblings may be, I think it’s only fitting, since I’m just as silly as the rest of ’em.

Another recent gift-project for a lovely friend of mine! We had a goofy ol’ time at command central working on this together – I giving her options, she giving the yeas and the nays – and came up with this sweet little print for her brand-new niece, Katarina.  She posted about it on her lovely blog a while ago, so I thought I’d better share the love, too!

Yes, I’m a week late.

Yes, St. Patrick’s Day has come and gone.

But this year’s Kegs & Eggs was a smashing success, with this delicious crowning jewel topping the day off like a lovely leprechaun’s hat.

Sippable satisfaction with just the right amount of hoppiness and the hintiest hint of fresh-cracked peppercorns. And the “green”-ness was quite apropos.

Now if only we can figure out how to get our hands on another bottle for next year…

It’s Friday.

It’s Friday, it’s snowing, I’m antsy to get home to my sweet at-home-on-a-snowday hubby, and I’m hungry. (I think it’s the weekend that makes me hungry – thinking about all the yummy possibilities that just MIGHT be mine in the next day or two. The anticipation is almost more than I can handle!! Okay, who am I kidding, I’m always hungry.)

But this Friday I’m hungry specifically for bacon (again, who am I kidding, I’m always hungry for bacon, but that’s NOT THE POINT). Maybe it’s cuz I got so excited on Tuesday, when chocolate-covered bacon. Happened. Yes. (I blame my co-conspirator.) In any event, in anticipation of the bacon possibilities of this weekend, I did a quick bacon-centric Google search. Gleeful isn’t the WORD to describe how I felt when I stumbled across Not Martha’s adorable bacon cup tutorial.

I mean, first of all, it’s BACON. Secondly, it’s BACON. And third, it’s bacon in tiny adorable cup-like shapes that you can PUT THINGS IN!! As shown in this pic I nabbed from her (many thanks to the illustrious Megan at Not Martha for this lovely shot), you can add a lil’ L and some T’s and you’ve got some cute little BLT cups; or, as my excitable imagination is dreaming about, why not throw an egg and some cracked black pepper in there? Or maybe some Guinness gelato, chopped nuts and a little dark chocolate? Et cetera.

YUM. Happy weekend.

If you’ve read any of my early posts (ahem…word of warning…not so great), you’ll know that any list of my favorite things MUST include the requisite brown paper packages (definitely of the “tied up with strings” variety). I can’t help it – they’re just so cute! I mean, aren’t they?

To help persuade you, here’s a picture snapped by a friend upon receipt of such a package. I left it in her mailbox one afternoon as a little “happy (insert favorite happy occasion here)” gift, and while it was cute when I left it there, it’s even cuter on the sweet patterned background she captured with this snapshot.

Sweet, sweet, sweet! I just want to scoop it up and hold it in two cupped hands like I would a fuzzy little bunny.
